Protected cultivation is a process of growing crops in a controlled environment. This means that the temperature, humidity, light and other factors can be regulated as per the requirement of the crop. This assists in a healthier and larger produce. There are various types of protected cultivation practices. Protected cultivation is the technology that creates a favourable micro-environment for plant growth & protects plants from harsh weather conditions, wind, animals, birds, snow, disease/pest incidences etc.

Aimed primarily to serve our Small and marginal farmer community by empowering them with the latest Protected Agriculture Technologies at a very affordable price range, thereby aligning it with our companies’ visions to enhance farmer prosperity by means of increasing farm output and income through technological interventions. Our solutions provide customized protected cultivation structures and equipment developed specifically keeping in mind the requirements at a local level. The structures under the solution though small in size and low in cost, are however engineered for high durability and production efficiency, thereby ensuring a good return on the investment for the farmers.

Keeping a vision to improve the small and marginal farmers, Mahindra Greenhouse, came forward and decided to work on affordable protected cultivation for growing vegetables around the year for a single farming family. We have developed the structure starting from the range of 400m2 to 4000m2 affordable Net-house units from the year 2018-19.

We have successfully installed our units in various parts of India.

We are into the Design, Supply and Installation of various types of Greenhouses like NVPH, CCPH, Net-houses, and Saw-tooth Model polyhouses. Along with this, we also provide custom-made solutions based on Crops, Locality and Production oriented aspects. We introduced “Affordable Cluster Based Net house” for small and marginal land-holding farmers, those engaged in Nurseries and vegetable production.

Our Features and Objectives

  • Much affordable Structure for all kinds of common Vegetable to grow for longer durations
  • Make full-time engagement for vegetable production around the year
  • Multi-layer farming can be achieved by setting various vegetables according to crop cycles
  • A trellising system can be adopted according to the crop’s desired level of support
  • Reduce the Pesticides and other harmful chemicals by insect net protection cover all around the sides of the structure
  • Reduces direct sunlight on the growing vegetable, hence optimum utilisation of Irrigation along with fertilisation
  • Reduces labour efforts by creating a good environment to work inside the unit during the peak sunlight hours
  • Retain market supply condition by getting consistency over the good quality vegetable production as per the cropping plan
  • One-year guidance for the cultivation practices by the professional Agronomist
  • Tailor-made solutions can also be provided for even for smaller structural and engineering requirements

Types of Greenhouse structures

  1. Poly house
  2. Fan-Pad structure
  3. Poly Tunnel
  4. Net-house

1. Polyhouse structure:

It is also known as a Naturally ventilated structure covered with UV-stabilized Poly film and Insect net cover. It will have a Natural air circulation effect for growing all kinds of vegetables and flowers in all regions.

We have developed two models for this Poly house structure:

  1. Saw tooth model: Optimal ventilation with special strength for withstanding different loads.
  • Span width: 6.4m
  • Height under gutter: 4.0m
  • Total height: 6.0m
  1. Gothic roof ventilation model: Optimal ventilation for tropical areas with heavy rains
  • Span width: 8.0m-9.6m
  • Height under gutter: 4.0m
  • Total height: 6.0-8.0m

2. Fan-Pad /Hi-tech structure:

It is also known as a Forced ventilated structure or Climate Controlled Poly House (CCPH) covered with UV-stabilized Poly film / Polycarbonate and Side ventilation completely covered with Poly film or Poly carbonate sheet. It will have Pad at one side of the span length and the other (opposite) side Exhaust Fan for throwing hot out. This rapid changing of inside climatic effect helps for growing all kinds of Nurseries, leafy vegetables and flowers in all regions with heights ranging from: 6.0m

  • Span width: 8.0m-9.6m
  • Height under gutter: 4.0m

3. Poly Tunnel:

A poly Tunnel also known as a hoop greenhouse grow tunnel or high tunnel is a tunnel typically made from steel and covered in polyethylene, usually semi-circular or elongated in shape. It will be having single-span or multi-span with height ranging from: 4.0m-6.0m.

  • Single Span width: 5.0m-8.0m
  • Multi-span width: 5.0m-6.0m

4.Net House:

4.Net House:

A net house refers to a structure that is enclosed by agro nets or any other woven material to allow required sunlight, moisture and air to pass through the gaps. It creates an appropriate microclimate conducive to the plant growth. These are also called as Shade houses or a greenhouse.

  • Span width: 8.0m
  • Distance between columns: 4.0m-5.0m
  • Column height: 3.0m,4.0m,4.5m
  • Balcony space: 2.0m-2.5m
  • Available types: Cable purlin & Pipe Purlin

Additional systems offered for better growing and creating favorable environment.

  1. Shading system : Creates extra shading factor
  2. Trellising system : Hold additional crop loads
  3. Fogging System: Control over Temperature & Humidity
  4. Drip Irrigation system: Feeding of nutritional water at root level
